Conference OrganisersThe conference organisers are Professor Michael Barnes of the Department of Scandinavian Studies, University College London and Professor Judith Jesch and Dr David Parsons of the School of English Studies, University of Nottingham. About LancasterThe town and University of Lancaster are situated in the north-west of England, with easy access by road, rail and air. The University campus is set in 250 acres of parkland and woods, just outside the city. Both the Lake District and the Scottish border are easily accessible from Lancaster, and excursions to Anglo-Saxon and Anglo-Scandinavian runic inscriptions in these areas will be organised as part of the conference. PublicationPapers given at the Symposium will be considered for publication in a volume of proceedings to be edited by Michael Barnes. A style sheet will be distributed at the conference, and papers will need to be submitted by 31 December 2005.
